'n Lekkerte is haar gereelde bydraes tot die internasionale wetenskapswebblad Nature Africa, oor wetenskaplikes van regoor Afrika wat hul merk maak. Daarby skryf sy ’n maandelikse omgewingsrubriek vir die tydskrif Lig, en behartig sy die tydskrif se boekeblad. In haar vrye tyd help sy die Breytenbach Boekklub reël by die Breytenbach Sentrum op haar tuisdorp, Wellington.
Engela het op Oudtshoorn grootgeword, en woon reeds byna twee dekades op Wellington saam met haar man en twee dogters (en twee honde).
Engela Duvenage has a profound love for facts and stories. She completed an MPhil in Journalism from the University of Stellenbosch and for the past two decades she’s regularly contributed to newspapers, magazines and research publications about science and the people behind it in South Africa. A highlight is her regular contributions to the international science website Nature Africa, about scientists from across Africa who are making their mark. In addition, she writes a monthly environmental column for the magazine Lig and manages the magazine’s book page. In her free time, she helps organise the Breytenbach Boekklub at the Breytenbach Sentrum in her hometown, Wellington.
Engela grew up in Oudtshoorn but for the past two decades she has lived in Wellington with her husband and two daughters (and two dogs).
